The Excitement of the First Pickleball Tournament of the Year in Vernon and What it Means for the Future of the Sport
The pickleball season has kicked off in Vernon
With over 100 men competing in the Frostbite Classic tournament at the Marshall Fields pickleball center, the largest pickleball-only, year-round covered facility in Canada. Several upcoming tournaments are scheduled, including a women's tournament on March 11, a mixed doubles tournament on April 15, and the BC Provincial Championships from May 11 to 14. Tournament director Richard Chambers is optimistic about the facility's potential for attracting players from the Interior and beyond, and encourages anyone interested in the sport to stop by the Okanagan Landing facility.
