Rochester Area Pickleball Association to Host Inaugural Tournament this Weekend
The Rochester Area Pickleball Association is hosting its first-ever tournament on May 5-6 at Cooke Park. The event, which is members-only, includes a novice division, men's and women's intermediate divisions, and a mixed advanced division. Some of the best players in the area, including Hun Pak and Angela Tauscher, are expected to participate.
Sign-ups for the tournament are nearly full, but spectators are welcome at no charge. There will be a food truck on site for those who wish to purchase food. Novice play begins on Friday at 5 p.m., with intermediate and advanced play taking place on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to the tournament, the Rochester Area Pickleball Association will host leagues and other organized play throughout the summer, with sign-ups starting soon. To learn more about pickleball in Rochester and to join the pickleball association, visit their website at rochesterpickleball.com.
